Maulidur Rasul

Maulidur Rasul, colloquially known as Mawlid, comes from an Arabic word that means

“birth.”

It is used to refer to the anniversary of Muhammad’s birth. Muslims come together in a procession, recite the Quran, praising the Prophet and speak of how he lived and his attributes, in order to learn more about Islam.
